11th Moab Jeep Jamboree Oct. 22-24 2009 Moab Utah Classic

Coming sooner than you think is the 11th Moab Jeep Jamboree located in Moab Utah on October 22-24, 2009. Moab is incredibly beautiful and full of outdoor activities ranging from rafting, biking, hiking, fishing and the such, and off course Jeep 4-wheeling! The sheer number of trails alone at varying levels of difficulty make it easy to pick just the right trails for you to challenge yourself or just enjoy a little 4-wheeling fun.

The Jeep Jamboree committee describes the Moab Jeep Jamboree as such “Huddled in a far-off valley between pinnacles of red rock, Moab is one of the most breathtaking 4×4 destinations in the nation – if not the world. Many movies, including a host of John Ford Wild West classics, have been filmed in these otherworldly environs. A high percentage of the maintained and primitive roads are actually remnants of the area’s uranium prospecting and mining past. Potash Road just outside Moab features petroglyphs and several dinosaur tracks. Be sure to take in the spectacular terrain of neighboring Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park.”

What they don’t tell you is that Moab trails can get you in a real bind if you do not know what you are doing. A simple search on You Tube will prove this to you. The Jeep Jamboree has spotters or guides throughout the trails for a reason.. they know the trails and how to manipulate them. Do not go into trails you are unfamiliar with the attitude you do not need to listen to anyone, that you know what you are doing. This can prove to be very devastating for you and your Jeep. LISTEN to the GUIDES! They are there to help you achieve the trails, not lose.

Here is an example of what not listening to your guides can get you.

There is still time to get in on the action of the Moab Jeep Jamboree! Just contact http://www.jeepjamboreeusa.com/ and register.

"You're telling me it's got four wheels, two seats and goes faster than the speed limit? Good, I'm driving."

  1. That was pretty cool, right up until he rolled it. I’m guessing he was OK but probably shook up too. I like to go off road but I never would have tried that.

  2. My boyfriend’s dad got him a Jeep for graduation. He’s been taking it off road sometimes and I wondered what it was all about. After I watched the video, I don’t think I want to know anymore. Of course, we don’t have any rocks or mountains around here. I’m sure that once he realizes they have Jamborees, he’ll be wanting to go. Question is, will I?

  3. If I had my druthers, I’d drive in Moab exclusively. It is an awesome area and down right fun. The scenery is breathtaking, especially in the fall. My buddy and I are headed out there tomorrow morning for the day.

  4. Those look like some serious trails. I really enjoy my Jeep when I get it off road but I’ve never tried anything like that. Watching the short made me itchy for trying it though.

  5. That’s pretty radical looking and right up my alley. My idea of a peaceful weekend is to take my Jeep and find new challenges to tackle.

  6. Since I started going off road a few years back I’ve made several new friends. It’s an exciting way to spend the weekend too. No more bored for me!

  7. I’ve watched the clip several times. I get a real kick out of every time too. I really want to try this. I don’t have a Jeep, so I guess that’s the first step.
