Grab Handles ~ How Universal are they?

I guess you never really appreciate having safety items installed in your Jeep until after you needed them. Grab handles come in handy for more than just having something for passengers to grab a hold of when you find yourself in a tricky spot, but also for getting in and out of your Jeep as well, especially if you have a nice lift kit installed.

Besides being a great tool for yourself and passengers to get in and out of your Jeep and have something to hold on to when the going gets tough, grab handles make a great spot to have extra recovery attachments for recovery gear, not for full recovery mind you, but possible stabilization when your sitting sideways in a difficult predicament.

Not only that, but rear grab handles can make an excellent location for gear storage while on the trails. You can use grab handles to hold your towropes, jumper cables, etc.

When choosing grab handles for your Jeep, take into consideration what their main use will be. If it is just for entering and exiting the vehicle or a place to grab a hold of something while out on the trail you will want to make sure that they have very secure fasteners for a strong fit. If you are looking at the possibility of being able to use them in possible recovery situations, you will need to make sure they have the strongest securing properties possible as well as make sure where they are located is a secure location.

Grab handles for basic use, entering and exiting and something to grab a hold of while on he trails, although you will want them secure, you may also want to take into consideration their appearance, especially if they are easily seen. If being used as extra storage locations of ropes, etc, appearance may not be as big of an issue. Just remember, the higher quality and strength compound with location installed can be very multi tasked and save you money in the end.

"You're telling me it's got four wheels, two seats and goes faster than the speed limit? Good, I'm driving."

  1. I’ve used them when my boyfriend corners to hard or when we’re off road and the going gets rough but I’m not always along and Sam may appreciate the idea of using them for storage. Great idea.

  2. Using the grab handles for storage is something I’ve been doing for quite some time. They come in very handy too. It keeps my ropes stationary and I always know right where they are when I need them. No tangling either.
