The 18th Big Bear Jeep Jamboree is approaching. For those of you who haven’t caught this yet on the Jeep Jamboree site, here are the basics. The 2010 Jeep Jamboree 18th Big Bear is being held May 13th thru May 15th at Big Bear Lake, California.

From the Jeep Jamboree site:
Take a trip back in time and become part of California’s Wild West. Travel far from pavement along mining and logging trails used in the gold rush era, 159 years ago. You’ll enjoy rock-and-boulder-strewn trails with great views overlooking Big Bear Lake. You’ll cross streams where miners used to pan for gold or traverse over to the mountain’s edge for breathtaking views of California’s High Desert. Let our guides show you what you and your Jeep® 4×4 are capable of! While you’re in this great area, make time for some wonderful mountain sports in and around Big Bear, like fishing, kayaking, and mountain biking.

"You're telling me it's got four wheels, two seats and goes faster than the speed limit? Good, I'm driving."

  1. I live in Oregon and I’ve been able to drive down and attend this event for the past 5 years. It’s a good time for sure. I’m not going to make it this year as my best friend is getting married that weekend and I’m his Best Man.

  2. I’ve only missed one of the past 17 events hosted by this club. I was in the hospital with my leg in traction or I would have made it that year too. It’s 3 days of total fun that you won’t soon forget. It’s great being around so many other Jeep enthusiasts.

  3. I’ve camped at Big Bear Lake before and it’s a great area. I didn’t have my Jeep back then so I really didn’t consider how the area would be for that. I’m excited to be going back, this time in my Jeep.

  4. I’ve never been to this area of the US but it sounds like it will be a blast. A little bit of history along with some great off road trails.

  5. I’ve attended this event several times in the past and will be there again this year. It’s always a great weekend. Lots of old friends and hopefully a few new ones. The scenic trails are some you won’t soon forget. Don’t forget your camera.

  6. Big Bear Lake is situated in some of the prettiest country in the western U.S. We go fishing and camping several times a year so I know the area well. I just bought a Jeep in January and thought I’d try the Jamboree. The rest of the family will be staying at the lake camping while I get to try my hand at off road driving. We’ll be there for 10 days surrounding the weekend of the Jamboree. It will be the fist trip of the summer and we’re all pretty excited for it to get here.
