Caught on Camera!

2006 Photo Contest 11th Place Winner - Robert H.

Jeeps are amazing vehicles and never stop people from being amazed by their capabilities and quite frankly, daring feats no other vechile could muster. Here are just a couple more pictures from the 2006 contest files that are just too good not to share… Above you see Robert H. at what is called the test rock, at the entry point to Broad Canyon in Las Cruces.

As he puts it “I am ‘breaking in’ the just installed Lo Max gear set in my Dana 300 in my 1982 CJ7 with 4.0 and T-5.” Looks like a great test to us!

2006 Photo Contest 10th Place Winner - Matthew R.

Matthew R. in his 1981 CJ-7 after it’s frame off rebuild. We’ll let him tell us about the pic, ” This was the first trip out with my 81 CJ-7…tried Anti-Bronco Hill and found out it’s not Jeep friendly either. Luckily it stood up and stopped without going over.”

"You're telling me it's got four wheels, two seats and goes faster than the speed limit? Good, I'm driving."

  1. That’s freaking amazing. What a picture. Certainly a picture to do the driver and the camerman proud. I have to wonder what it would be like to be suspended in the air like that. My wheels have had their fair share of clearing the ground but I can assure you it wasn’t by more than a few inches.

  2. I think daring feats is too gentle a phrase for what I’m looking at. I thought I was pretty daring but after seeing these pictures I feel like I’m still on the kiddie runs. Oh well, I have fun whenever I go out and I guess that’s the bottom line. Always, there will be greater than I, and I can live with that. Besides, it gives me something to aspire to.

  3. I can’t begin to imagine why this picture was that low in the ratings. Tell me, did the winner fly? I hope you’ll consider posting some of the top place pictures or at least tell us where to go to find them. Of course, being there to see it would have been better, but since you can’t be everywhere at once I’d settle for a chance to see the freeze frame.
