More Upcoming Jeep Events

Here are a couple more upcoming Jeep Events you may want to mark on your calendar!

Trip to Browns Camp
Sunday, May 1, 2011 • 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Southwest Oregon Jeeps
The Browns Camp and Jordan Creek OHV areas provide more than 100 miles of easy to difficult Class I, II and III trails for beginners and experts. Campgrounds are nearby and may require a fee. (Browns Camp and Jordan Creek OHV Staging areas are generally open from early April through October. Rogers Camp Trailhead and Diamond Mill OHV Staging area remain open year round). All developed campgrounds on the Tillamook State Forest require a fee for overnight camping.
Site location: Three areas are off Hwy 6 (Browns Camp at milepost 33, Diamond Mill at milepost 22.8, and Jordan Creek at milepost 18). Trask is south of Tillamook on Hwy 101.

Wheeling trip to Rangely Colorado
Saturday, June 11, 2011 • 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Southwest Oregon Jeeps
From Southwest Oregon Jeeps: “I decided I wanted to get a trip together that wasn’t full of boring scenic flat 2-wd trails. I wanted to get a group together that wanted to scratch some paint, possibly do a lil’ winching, and have some breaks to remove the seats from our ride – well you get the point…”

“After some debate and consideration, I’ve come to the idea that this will be a 2 part trip, the 21st – 26th of JUNE 2011. The first part, we’ll be in Grand Junction. the trails are gonna be 21 rd. and Billings – two challenging trails and very distinct trails. These should take the 21st. The 23-26 (one day of travel tome to there and to set up camp get situated and 3 days wheeling) will be in Rangley Colorado(north of GJ). Rangley is said to be the “Moab of Colorado” with everything from stock to absolutely nuts. I have already talked to the Rangly Rock Crawlers club and they are more than stoked to have a group come out and would even show us the trails. It’s BLM land so camping is cool, but the rules apply as far as rigs, cleanup, spills, etc.”

Rangley has anything from stock to nuts, like I said, but this group is intended to be a lil on the crazy side. I plan on being on the smaller end of things. I imagine the minimum will be 35’s, dual lockers, winch, armor, and lots of spares – (33’s might be considered but will depend on vote by those attending). Anyone can come out but the rigs in this group should be ready to rock and roll!!!! We hope we can get some of ya to come out and participate!”

"You're telling me it's got four wheels, two seats and goes faster than the speed limit? Good, I'm driving."

  1. Rock and roll is music to my ears. I’m up for a challenge and I’m all for meeting new friends. I tend to go off road by myself but I sure never rule out a good time with a group. Count me in!

  2. The Tillamook State Forest is a terrific place to visit. We spent several days there this past summer and will most likely get there again in 2011. We camp and hike as well as Jeep and we’ve been totally satisfied with our experiences here.

  3. I can relate to a lil on the crazy side! Count me in for sure. I bet at least a few members of our club will be with me when we hit town. Look out!!
