"You're telling me it's got four wheels, two seats and goes faster than the speed limit? Good, I'm driving."

  1. Always looking for new spots in Texas. People think just because you live there you have the low down on all the sites. Guess they haven’t looked at a map recently. Texas is a pretty darned big state. Besides, I’ve only been in off road mode about 2 years now. I’d like to get somewhere that gets a fair amount of snow. That’s something we don’t offer down here. The occasional dusting we get never lasts long.

  2. Can’t say that I’ve ever heard of Katemcy Rocks but “Moab of Texas” rings a bell. I have a distant cousin who lives near Mason and I got him hooked on off roading at a family reunion a few years back. I think this is the park he’s been telling me about. If that’s so, I think I’ll be paying him a visit right soon. Never had a chance to see granite up close and personal in its natural state.

  3. Not many states have better off road opportunities than Texas. I’ve been to several states and tried all kinds of trails. The only one I liked better was Arizona. I find my way to Katemcy Rocks several times a year. I only live about 30 miles away so it is convenient, but if I didn’t really like it I’d find somewhere else to go. I always look for places that have been recommended by others. Keep on keeping on!
