NC4x4 – Central North Carolina: Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, NC, SC, VA

In keeping with trying to bring to the forefront all of the available off roading groups around the state, I bring to you today NC4x4 located in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area of North Carolina, with additional locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. The NC4x4 group was suggested to us by Teddy Souther. If you know of a group we have not listed yet, please let us know and we will add it to our list. Please provide the URL with your suggestion. If the site does not have a current website, give us some background information on it and address and we will get it posted.

Here is some information about NC4x4 from their official website, www.nc4x4.com. The Central North Carolina 4×4 Club (NC4x4) is open to all models and makes of 4WD vehicles. The club is a non-profit organization and is incorporated. While many memberships are in central North Carolina, there are also members in other areas of North Carolina as well as South Carolina and Virginia. Members range from those who are first timers all the way up to seasoned veterans in 4-wheeling. The various rigs in the club range from those that are lifted, locked and loaded to those that are show room stock.

The group has a blog complete with pictures of 4-wheelers in action and the trails they go on. The posts also give reports about the various trails so that others will know what they are getting into. You will also find a forum on their site and a fun store that has unique merchandise for club members. There is also a Facebook page for people to connect with the club under the name NC4x4.

"You're telling me it's got four wheels, two seats and goes faster than the speed limit? Good, I'm driving."

  1. As a newbie to the off road arena I appreciate being able to get a birds eye view of the trails I might encounter on a trip. I am more apt to make the drive to attend events if I know I’ll be able to pick and choose the trails I feel more comfortable with. I’m in no hurry to try the advanced trails. That will come in time.
