General Sam’s Off-Road Park

General Sam’s is located in Huntsville, TX and offers off-roaders 706 acres of beautiful piney woods forests, six spring fed creeks and over sixty miles of off road trails for ATV’s, trucks and Jeeps. The park is open every week from Tuesday – Sunday. Park fees are $20 per day for one vehicle and a driver. Additional passengers are $5 per day. If you’re planning on staying for the whole weekend you may be interested in the all weekend special which is $45 for an all weekend pass from opening on Friday until closing on Sunday. If you enjoy camping the park has ten acres set aside for camping and deluxe camp sites are available that are equipped with electrical hookups. Deluxe RV sites which include water and electricity are $30 per night and must be reserved.

General Sam’s also features a competition area that includes mud drags, sand drags and a huge mud bog. There is also an air compressor on site so that you can maintain the proper air levels in your tires. Other amenities include convenient bathroom locations and showers which are located in the front of the camping area.

If you are in the area on the weekend of October 28th stop by the park and take part in a haunted trail ride, pumpkin buddy run, pumpkin toss and much more. On the 29th of October the park will be hosting the Great Muddy Escape with all proceeds being donated to YMCA.

With everything from camping to off-roading there is something for everyone at General Sam’s. A visit to the park will provide you with plenty of memories to last a lifetime and leave you wanting more.

"You're telling me it's got four wheels, two seats and goes faster than the speed limit? Good, I'm driving."

  1. Too bad they’re not open on Monday. I like to go a week and use both weekends too. Wonder if you’re in the camping area if they would let you stay. Guess I’ll be checking into that. I’ve heard some good things about the park, just haven’t had the opportunity to check it out myself.

  2. A variety of terrains and reasonable rates is a combination that’s hard to resist. I love Texas and this just adds to the list of reasons I keep going back. If I could find a job there I’d relocate in a heart beat.

  3. Love the mud at General Sam’s. The wash down is a major plus. The little woman would totally freak out if I drove in the drive covered in a days worth of mud.
