Jeep Rocker Protection

Warn Rock Sliders Black Powder Coat 3/16 in. Steel for Jeep CJ7 1976-86

If you often take your Jeep off road, then you already know the damage that your Jeep can get. Scratches, dings, and dents are commonplace when you go off road. Rocks are one of the biggest enemies to a Jeep. They can fly up and ding the sides, scratch the paint, and cost you hundreds in repair bills. Even worse, if you tend to go off road and over rocks, the area on the side of your Jeep between the wheel wells often scrapes along the rocks. This is often the weakest point on a Jeep, and the one that will be severely damaged by sliding along rocks. You’ll get dents, dings, and can say goodbye to your paint job!

Rocker guards (also known as rock sliders) are the best protection for your Jeep when you take it off road. There are several different designs of rocker guards, but they all attach to the side of your jeep between the wheels in order to protect it from the rocks you might need to drive over or scrape against. Some are designed to fit flush against your Jeep, while others not only protect the side of your Jeep but also provide a sturdy step up into the seat. You can choose rocker protection that covers the entire side of your Jeep, from wheel well to wheel well, or the kind that just protects the most vulnerable part of your Jeep.

You can often choose from a few different colors when you are shopping for rocker protection. Aluminum tread, powder coated tread, powder coated steel, and polished aluminum are the most popular colors. Some you are even able to paint if you want to, so that they match your Jeep more fully. You will also find that some rocker protection pieces are able to be cut to better fit your particular Jeep. However, you should always make sure that the protection pieces you are interested in are made to fit your model Jeep so that you will get the best fit. You also will need to choose if you want the type that requires drilling to secure or the kind that does not require any drilling. Whatever you choose, you’ll have peace of mind knowing that your Jeep is protected from damage.
